What to check before buying oud wood

Oud wood listings can be difficult to compare when they use different pack sizes or provide limited descriptions. Start with the information you can check: the weight, the price for that pack, the stated product details and its intended use.
Start with the pack weight
A lower pack price does not necessarily mean a lower price for the same quantity. Where both listings state a net weight in grams, divide the pack price by that weight to compare price per gram. This compares quantity and price only; it is not a quality score. Do not calculate a unit comparison when the weight is missing or the units differ.
Clarify what you are buying
Ask about the stated origin and whether the wood is treated or perfumed when this information is relevant and not listed. Country-style names, a photograph and a grade word are starting points for questions, rather than proof of composition or quality. Ask what information supports the particular description.
Match the product to your use
Tell the store what kind of burner you use and how you plan to enjoy the fragrance. Follow the product and burner manufacturer's directions. Different pieces and preparations may require different handling, so avoid assuming that instructions for a different incense product apply.
Check availability before travelling

Worked example: compare price per gram
These are illustrative numbers, not Elegance OUD products or current offers. Suppose one pack contains 20g for AED 200 and another contains 10g for AED 150.
- Pack A: AED 200 ÷ 20g = AED 10 per gram
- Pack B: AED 150 ÷ 10g = AED 15 per gram
Pack A costs more in total but less per gram. That calculation does not compare quality, origin or scent. Only use it when both listed weights and currencies are clear and comparable.
